How one horse's journey towards deeper trust and connection unfolded.
Meet Halo
Halo is a 16-year-old gelding described by his guardian, Stacey, as sensitive, well-trained, kind and incredibly eager to please.
He's the sort of horse who always tries to do the right thing, regardless of how he's feeling.
But Stacey recognised something beneath his willingness to cooperate.
She believed Halo had experienced high-pressure training earlier in his life. Training sticks and swinging ropes could trigger an immediate response of worry and rushing, as he tried desperately to do whatever was being asked of him.
At other times, he would move closer to his handler, seemingly seeking comfort.
Even everyday interactions could bring out subtle signs of hesitation. He might approach in the paddock before stopping to assess the situation, turn his head away while being haltered or raise his head when someone approached with a brush.
These behaviours had already improved considerably through the care and connection Stacey and Emily had developed with him.
However, Stacey felt that Halo still carried some underlying worry about people's expectations.
And she wanted to help him let go of it.
The intention: Helping Halo feel safe within himself
Stacey had already been supporting Halo through careful management, chiropractic treatment and bodywork.
A recent riding lesson had also revealed physical discomfort. Halo had initially tried to continue working, but when asked to canter, he struggled and eventually displayed behaviour that was very unusual for him.
The lesson was stopped, and Stacey arranged further physical support.
Her approach was to consider Halo's wellbeing as a whole, recognising that his physical comfort and emotional experiences both deserved attention.
She decided to add distant energy healing to the support he was already receiving.
Her goal wasn't to make Halo more obedient or easier to handle. She wanted him to experience a deeper, more consistent sense of relaxation, trust and wellbeing.
Most importantly, she wanted him to feel safe enough to relax and be himself.
Halo's energy healing session
Halo received his distant energy healing session on 31 August 2026.
Working through my usual priority-led process, I allowed Halo's energetic system to determine which areas required attention and in what order.
The session identified several areas associated with emotional wellbeing, including suspicion, low self-esteem, self-doubt and low self-worth.
The Root, Solar Plexus and Heart chakras, along with the Self-Preservation and Body Language minor chakras, were among the areas addressed.
Within my energy healing framework, these areas are associated with feelings of safety, confidence, emotional connection, self-protection and communication.
The session also involved work with inherited energetic patterns, an energetic download, the Fear No More essence and support from Archangels Raphael and Michael.
Although several areas were addressed, the recurring themes were particularly relevant to Stacey's original intention: safety, trust, confidence and the freedom to express himself.
At the end of the session, no further energy healing sessions were indicated for the original intention.
Halo was then given time to integrate the session while continuing to receive his existing physical care.
Three weeks later: The subtle changes
When I contacted Stacey approximately three weeks after Halo's session, she reported noticing some gentle changes.
She felt Halo was becoming softer and generally more relaxed around his family.
She also acknowledged the importance of his ongoing chiropractic treatment and bodywork, believing that the combination of support was contributing to his overall wellbeing.
One particularly meaningful observation was seeing Halo lying down and enjoying a deeply relaxed morning snooze, despite the neighbouring horses having been moved to another paddock.
Stacey wrote:
"I feel that he has let go of some of the worry and guardedness that he held and is more open."
These weren't dramatic behavioural changes. They were subtle signs that Stacey felt represented something important for Halo.
And then, approximately a week and a half later, she sent me another update.
This time, something had happened that allowed her to observe Halo's responses in a situation involving one of his known triggers.
Four and a half weeks later: A moment of trust
Stacey had arranged an introductory liberty-training session for Emily and Halo.
The instructor was unfamiliar to Halo and was carrying a training stick, something Stacey had previously identified as a trigger for him.
Initially, Halo responded with tension, worry and rushing.
The instructor remained patient, giving him time to settle before demonstrating an exercise.
But what happened when Emily took over was particularly meaningful to Stacey.
In her own words:
"The beautiful thing was as soon as she handed Halo back to Emily he visibly relaxed. He was calm and listening and connected with her as they worked through the exercise of learning together. They were so patient and forgiving of each other."
Later, while everyone was standing together talking, Halo made another choice.
He quietly moved around Emily until he was positioned just behind her right shoulder, placing her between himself and the instructor.
Stacey described it beautifully:
"He chose his safe place."
For Emily, this was a particularly rewarding moment.
She had already noticed and felt changes in Halo, but seeing him make such a deliberate choice gave her a very visible demonstration of the connection they had developed.
Stacey also observed that Halo's posture and engagement were different when he was working with Emily.
"His neck is soft and his back is relaxed, he looks beautiful."
A journey of continued support
What I particularly appreciate about Halo's story is that it isn't about a horse suddenly becoming perfect or never experiencing worry again.
Halo still reacted when confronted with a familiar trigger during his liberty-training session.
However, Stacey observed that he was able to relax with Emily, remain connected during their work and actively choose where he felt safest.
These were meaningful observations for a family that had been working patiently to help him feel more secure.
Halo's energy healing session was one part of a broader approach that included chiropractic care, bodywork, thoughtful handling and the relationship he had developed with Stacey and Emily.
We cannot separate the effects of each form of support, but Stacey was delighted with the changes she was witnessing.
I'll leave the final words to her:
"Our intention for your session was to encourage Halo to release the worry about people's expectations that he carried within himself, to allow himself to feel safe and relaxed in his body, to trust in us and the connection on a deeper level. I am so happy for him.
Thank you again for being a part of Halos journey to his best life."
